Thank you for such an insightful book. Every point is valid and the examples aligns well with the narratives. I have shared with my younger colleagues to prepare them for the game.
Mastering the hidden rulebook of corporate politics is the only way for a technical leader to ensure their team's hard work actually translates into the visibility, budget, and promotions it deserves.
Sir whatever you are saying is correct, the game is real, but approach to play a part in the game and winning is only helping our egos to win at cost of losing executional efficiency. One can get more visibility by playing the game right but that ultimately leads to burnout either for you or the junior who are actually doing the work. If anything that matters is the execution of right actions at right time Or the system breaks into a infinite loop of political correctness and executional chaos. Take example of our body, analogous to an organization, every organ every cell performs a specialized function, there is a cellular brain, an intelligent system embedded in each cell membrane, which drives these functions efficiently, had these brain been used to achieve politically implied visibility, humans would not have existed. And now the humans are themselves talking and designing philosophy that contradicts the fundamental nature of human existence itself.

Iβve learned some of this the hard way. The corporate world is indeed a world in itself.

Thank you B R
This is all quite true and relationships convey data as much as, if not more memorably than, only data itself.
Spot on, Cathie.
This is super helpful. I think you articulated really well.
Thank you VJ
Great article! Agreed with most of it.
So one can't ignore /avoid politics and has to play. Otherwise, will be isolated. Such a sad state.
